The Dangers of Using a Phone while Driving

The world as a whole is changing and the changes that have been noted in the recent past is the availability of internet to many thus opening the world. People now a day have cell phones unlike in the past when you had to be next to your home or office phone that had a long wire attached to it. Despite of the major role that it plays it also has its negative side. This is a word of caution to all those people who are users of the cell phones and also drive. They are advised not to mix the two as they totally do not go along; they cannot be done simultaneously.

The things that are mostly done with the mobile phones are making and receiving calls as well as texting. This however can also be done by the PDA phones that are mostly touch screen phones; they operate with the help of the screen that is hypersensitive to touch. The Tablet is no exceptions in this category as they being types of phone they also pose a great danger to their users who use them while driving.  It is for this reason that different states in the world all over came up with different jurisdiction to help deal with this- the many accidents that are caused by the driver having to use his or her phone while driving.

The functions that the cell phones can too perform are as the using the navigation system for locating places as well as watching a video. However these cause distraction to the driver and pose a great danger to the driver, the passengers as well as the pedestrians. The type of distractions are as the visual distraction whereby the driver will have to lose concentration from the road and face a direction that he or she is not heading to, the cognitive distraction whereby the driver totally loses concentration.

This is mainly because most of the human brains cannot multitask with a lot of ease but rather one will have to outweigh the other and get more concentration an example is when the driver is indulged in a serious phone conversation and loses his concentration. This will mainly depend on the type of the conversation; maybe he has been told that his family is in great danger. Also a type of distraction that is also common is the manual distraction. It is because of the above reasons that great penalties have been put in place in many states for those who shall be found guilty of the offence of driving while using his or her phone.

How PDA Phones Changed the Cell phone Industry

More than one decade ago, Apple Inc. was seen to make a great effort that is going to offer a mobile office to most of the people that frequently move around the world. In 1993, a new era began and it was the era of the PDA phones, which are also known as the personal digital assistants. These cell phones began with the launch of the Newton. Apple released the Newton, which is also the one of the most of the most sought after Cell Phones. After the Newton, the next release was the pilot and it came on to the market when the PDA’s became one of the most sought after items.

For a long time the classic PDA’s were not seen to have a future. As a result, the market of the high tech materials, we have seen a rise in the need of the PDA materials. Over the years, we have seen an improvement in the PDA Smartphone designs. The screens of this phone are much better; they have a speed enhancement and have the storage-expanded capabilities. The market for the PDA cellphones has grown up to 40% and this is much higher when you compare it to the previous years before. The main reason for this is the sale of the windows mobile 5. Therefore, this means that when the PDA’s are running these operating systems it is going to become much more popular than the others.

For most of us, we cannot deny how it is so important to plan the different activities that we do every day. Weather it is personal or even professional, you will need to plan because it enhances the productivity and improves efficiency. The PDA phones are going to enable you to systemize your work to deliver the maximum. Most of the PDA cellphones have no keyboards; therefore, this means that you will have to learn how to use them. When you want to use these phones, you will need the help of a special pen based type of computer software and a special hardware, which is going to help in the recognition of the handwritten input. You can also use the display screen, which may be used with a stylus pen that can also help you in using these phones. Therefore, through this you are able to learn how to use a phone properly before you do any other thing.

Eat Healthy to Keep Radiation from Cell Phones Away

There have been numerous debates in the past few years concerning the effects that long usage of cell phones have on the user. Even though studies have not yet revealed whether the radioactive rays which are emitted by the phones can cause cancer, the possibility of its occurrence has not been ruled out either. This is mainly owing to the fact that it usually takes about 10 years for a person who smokes to begin showing signs of cancer. This is one characteristic of cancer that also applies for people who use phones for a very long period of time. The studies have also discovered ways people can use to reduce these effects which include: not talking on the touch phones for more than 20 minutes, using hands free equipment, using the loudspeaker and eating a healthy diet. Many people are aware of about three ways, but eating healthy is what they are yet to learn.

There are numerous foods which nutritionists encourage people to consume in order to curb the radioactive effects that are released from their cell phones. The most common types of food that you should eat daily include buckwheat, apples and sun flower seeds. These are foods which are highly nutritious and they have the ability of protecting you from the effects of radiation, while at the same time detoxifying your body from the toxins already present. During the course of the day, we are exposed to numerous types of radiation that come from smartphones, power lines, and computer screens, microwaves and airline travel as well. When the radiation is experienced for a very long period of time, the damage caused is usually escalated and thus severe internal burns and cancer can occur.

Many people do not know that eating healthy, and especially these types of foods, help the body to get rid of these toxins in a very effective way. Sunflower seeds and apples contain a nutrient known as pectin which is effective when it comes to removing any residues of radioactive rays present in the body. Buckwheat contains the glucocides which are helpful when it comes to protecting the body from the harmful effects of the radiation that is produced by various gadgets. Apart from these main foods, you should also include foods such as cereals, blue and green algae, all the essential fatty acids and chlorella which cleanses the body.

Some Fast facts about smart phones

PDA phones are devices, which are specially meant to be used to easily execute the services of a personal digital assistant (PDA) combined with serving the purpose of verbal communication. In general, the mobile phones of the past were devoid of this particular feature and merely served as a communication device. With the advent of touch phones of the present day, the features inbuilt in these kinds of cell phones have completely outclassed mobile phones released in previous years. These phones are not designed to be only for communication, but for several other important aspects of life. These include organizers, schedulers, entertaining music, videos, games, a torch, Bluetooth, news updates, SMS, MMS and many more. The mobile phone has become an inevitable commodity that has to be carried along with an individual all the time, in addition to other essentials such as a wallet and keys.

The numbers of service that are being made available on smart phones are increasing on a daily basis. Smart business firms make it easy for their clientele to get everything done with the simple device in their pockets. One can access maps, satellite navigation, the directions to a nearest television transmission tower, the latest news coverage, the weather reports and even the latest traffic updates instantaneously from your smart phone. This shows how versatile phones now are. They are no longer used exclusively for communication and their uses are endless, with new uses being found every day.

These phones really are smart devices. Multitudes of tasks can be performed just with this simple machine and this enables the user to save the amount of costs associated with purchases of other devices, when their uses can be found in a smart phone. Moreover, individuals really do save a lot of money in the form of instant payments made through cell phone billing facilities. The costs associated towards the penalties otherwise could have been too much to bear. You do not need to maintain an electronic diary, the contacts directory, or fix reminders about different events in your yearly calendar. Everything is automatically done in the smart phone through the digital software that is created specifically for serving these purposes. It shows how far smart phones have come, since they are now relied upon by their users to perform a huge number of tasks. Whereas before you may need an mp3 player, electronic diary, satellite navigation and other devices, it is now common to use a smart phone to perform the functions made by all of these devices. This saves the user a lot of time, money and pocket space.

Fast facts about PDA phones

Cell phones trackers could be of great use in identifying the theft of mobiles, for the police department. The software is available in many places on the internet. One could identify the best compatible software with respect to their PDA phones, the carrier of service, and so on. Touch phones could be traced just with their numbers, the detailed identify of the person could be obtained from the authorities of respective departments.
The database collection of all such credential information and details are always available with the service provider and it is mandatory for them to keep such details with them as a must. In fact, strict regulations are there that they are issuing the service providing sim cards only after effective scrutinizing and checking of the documents that are provided to them each and every retailer would emphasis more about the clarity of the documents that are submitted to them in spite of being a photocopy.
It is because of the fact that, there are so many incidents where the activation of the particular number of the sim card will not happen even after paying relevant prices for top up and so on. It is because of the fact that the head office members could not recognize certain details or the photocopy of the photo properly. It is also possible when there are some controversial facts identified in the photocopies that are produced.
Facilities are there that you could approach the retailer in such cases to ask and inquire about the defaults in such cases. The head office staff will explain on what is to be submitted further to prove that it is a genuine claim for the sim card. In that case, on providing the requirement credentials again, the number would be activated again after relevant checks and scrutiny.
The commission offered to the retailers for selling the top up cards is about 7 percent overall. It is almost the same all over the world, irrespective of different carriers and their services. If you sell a card for 100 dollars of any country’s currency, then you get seven of the same as your commission. In some places, efforts are going on to reduce this commission to 4 percent. The multi national companies unite the retailers in their fight against such deductions. Still, the government should also intervene and try to support the claims of the hard earning tradesmen in the market.

The smart phones and services

Touch phones can be used for a huge variety of tasks these days. Whereas they were once used just for verbal communication, they have since expanded their abilities and can perform diverse functions. The SMS feature is one example of a feature that was introduced and achieved great success, mostly due to its use throughout the younger generation. Many users use the SMS feature to communicate with their contacts. They are able to keep in contact with their friends and family through text messages costing less than a regular phone call. Moreover, when contacting friends in overseas countries, one would find it a great deal cheaper to send a text message instead of making a phone call. This feature has led to the improvement of communication possibilities at a lower cost.
Some mobile phone carriers offer free SMS services, ranging from 100 free messages, ranging upwards to an unlimited amount of free messages, depending on the contract that the consumer enters with the service. Prepaid services are the most attractive ones to users, as different carriers compete with each other to gain the biggest market share. Post paid services are fixed and discount options are comparatively less. Moreover, the customer is bound to the service when they sign up to the post-paid service. Hence, it is not necessary to attempt to gain more money from a loyal customer. On the other hand, there is no security from pre paid customer, as they can shift to a rival service, should they offer a deal which undercuts the customer’s existing service plan.
Sometimes customers can be swayed by offers from rival service providers. Once consumers have made the change to a rival service provider, it may be hard to win them back. For this reason, service providers put a lot of effort into making sure consumers stay with them, by offering the lowest rates and service plans possible. Consumers are the real winners in this situation, as they can threaten to leave a service provider and convince them to offer a cheaper plan. PDA phones have existed on the mobile phone market for quite some time now. These handsets are able to multi-task and perform a wide range of features that sets them apart from earlier cell phones. Despite this, normal cell phones are still perfectly suitable for users who do not need to use their phones for any other features and just want a communication device

Multimedia Mobile Formats

For multimedia enthusiasts, getting the right mobile device to cater to their needs is a daunting task. This is because one will have to choose from the wide range of smartphones that are sold on the market today. These phones come with some high-tech features, which would make any technologically savvy individual very happy. What is more, these devices are competitively priced so that there is a device for every budget. This affordability is a break away from the past when technology was quite expensive and thus such state-of-the-art devices were only the preserve of the affluent.

One feature that is particularly interesting in multimedia mobile devices is their compatibility with media formats. While some mobile devices will only support specialized media formats such as BlackBerry Videos, others will support a whole range of media formats, both generic and vendor-specific. Some generic media formats include MP3, 3GP, MP4, and WMV, which are normally supported by most mobile devices. These file formats allow for files to be downloaded on to the mobile device for listening, sharing or other uses, such as ringtones.

In order to extend the enjoyment of using such media files, some mobile devices are designed with high-tech features to cater for this. An example is having devices such as tablets, which have a large screen, suitable for viewing mobile videos. In order to increase the area of the screen, some mobile devices do not come with the standard numerical keypad or the extended QWERTY keypad. They instead utilize touch screen technology, whereby the keypad appears on the touch sensitive screen. Touch screen phones are the very latest invention and are only found in the most modern of cell phones.

Other important features of cell phones and devices that may be of interest to multimedia lovers include compatibility with external devices such as Bluetooth headsets, portable speakers and the ability to synchronize files to and from a computer. These extended functions are very important in the transfer and storage of media files, as well as enjoyment. Apart from this, there is the other issue of having extended battery life for the mobile device. To maximize on this, one may opt for devices with proven extended battery life, while at the same time taking measures to ensure that the battery life is maximized. For example, one could get a docking station or travel charger to use while on the move.

Incredible Uses Of Touch Phones

The mobile phone has been evolving into new manifestations for the past few years and will continue to develop. Touch screen phones are the most recent development in the market, which boggle the imagination. The touch screen phone has created a revolution in the mobile world as it gives new definition to these phones. Touch screen technology was once reserved for high end PDA Phones only, but now touch screen is incorporated into many different ranges of cell phones.

The touch screen is gaining more ground day by day because it has a global market which allows people to use them the way they use a computer. A laptop is handy and can be taken anywhere, but size is a deciding factor when compared to touch screen phones. The size of a touch screen makes it ideal to carry around - and it also has the capacity of the computer.

Touch screen phones are fast becoming a part of our lives. This is because of the fact that touch screen phones allow you to navigate more easily and quickly. You can activate the application by touching the screen rather than pressing the keys multiple times. The most common feature of touch screen mobiles is the vibrating feature. By using touch screen phones, we can also type text using an onscreen keyboard.

The touch screen phones and PDA phones are the latest inventions in the market that serves one in different ways, because it has the additional feature of being a mini-computer.

Touch screens are very popular in heavy industry and in other situations, such as museum displays or room automation, where keyboards and a mouse do not allow a satisfactory, spontaneous, quick, or accurate interaction with the user.

Another advantage of touch screen phones is that when your friend calls, it will not only display the details like name, number and a picture of the person, but will also display the Facebook status and the birth date of your friend.

New features are being added to the touch screens as a matter of course. Resistive technology which supports 240 x 400 pixels and colors up to 262k are some of them. There are also three buttons at the bottom which help you access the most frequently used features of the phone.

Touch phones are available in different colors, but users mostly prefer color like classic black, sleek silver and flashy purple. The touch screen mobiles are more popular in countries like the UK and the USA, but other countries are not far behind.

What to Do When Your Cell Phone Drops in Water

Today cell phones are a necessity. For one to have his or her life roll along easily they need one, as most of today’s activities need constant communication. Many times when our cell phones fall in water, we do not know what to do and in most cases we panic, as we have a lot of information that we wouldn’t like to lose in them. Below I have some tips of things to do in case your cell phone falls in water.

1. The first thing you must do is to remove your phone from the water. This will help stop water from reaching to places it had not yet reached, thus reducing the damage.

2. As soon as you remove it from the water, switch it off. Water is a good conductor of electricity. That means if the phone is left on, you are most likely to get short circuits in your phone. To avoid this, switch off the phone and remove the battery.

3. Make sure you remove your SIM card and memory card if you have them. For many people a phone is valued much lower than the SIM card and memory card, as that is where all their important information is stored.

4. Try to separate parts of the phone and put them out separately so that they can dry faster. You can shake it to throw out the water or use a cotton cloth to wipe it dry. If you have a hair dryer then you can use it to dry the water in your cell phone. Focus mainly on the battery area and the battery. Make sure that the speed of the dryer is low and keep it at a distance from the cell phone, as you do not want to heat it because this will only cause more damage.

After doing all this and making sure that you have removed all the water that you can, leave the pieces separately for a day, then reassemble them and switch it on. If it does not switch on try connecting it to the charger without the battery. If it goes on you need a new battery, if it does not see a professional phone repairer.

The next time your cell phone slips off from your pocket to the toilet, there should be no reason to panic. Just perform the above steps and your gadget will be just fine. There is though one thing to remember. Damage caused by water needs to be acted on immediately, as the longer it takes the more serious the damage and sometimes it may be irreparable.

Emergency Alert System Expected for Cellphones

Resource from:http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/10/us/10safety.html?scp=4&sq=cell%20phone%20&st=cse

By EDWARD WYATT

WASHINGTON — The emergency broadcast system is coming to cellphones.

Updating the national emergency alert system, federal officials planned to announce on Tuesday in Manhattan that some cellphone users in New York and Washington will soon be able to receive alerts by text message in the event of a national or regional emergency.

The service in those cities is scheduled to start late this year as a prelude to nationwide service next year, perhaps as early as April. To receive the alerts, users must have mobile phones with a special chip, which is currently included in some higher-end smartphones like the latest iPhones. The service will also require a software upgrade.

How quickly consumers are able to participate in the system depends on the rate of replacement of cellphones with the special chip and the software, officials said.

The emergency text messages will include alerts issued by the president, information about public safety threats and Amber Alerts for missing children. Text messages will be sent to customers of participating cellphone companies who are in an area affected by the emergency. Users can opt out of any of the alerts except the presidential messages.

The alerts are designed to mimic the familiar radio and TV broadcast alerts that for decades — accompanied by a shrill whistle and, in most instances, the message “This is only a test” — have advised Americans where to tune in for an emergency message.

Known as the Personal Localized Alerting Network, or PLAN, the new system will be a free service for people in New York and Washington who have enabled phones and are customers of Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile mobile phone systems.

“This new technology could become a lifeline for millions of Americans and is another tool that will strengthen our nation’s resilience against all hazards,” W. Craig Fugate, the administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said in a statement.

Julius Genachowski, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, said the system was designed to minimize the ability of hackers or spammers to send fraudulent messages. The alerts could appear directly on a cellphone screen, for example, rather than appear as a text message notification, and would probably be accompanied by a special vibration or other kind of signal.

“We don’t expect the alerts to be frequent,” Mr. Genachowski said. “They will be reserved for when they are truly needed, for tornadoes or for disasters like 9/11.”

Emergency authorities in several Asian and Pacific countries sent text messages warning of tsunamis after the March 11 earthquake in Japan.

Authorized government officials will be able to send emergency text messages to participating wireless companies, which will then use their cell towers to forward the messages to subscribers in the affected area. A New York City resident who is traveling in Chicago at the time of an emergency in New York would not receive a message; a Chicago resident who is a customer of the same phone company would see the text alert while in New York City, officials said.

The messages are also designed to avoid user congestion that often mars standard mobile voice and texting services.

Although cellphone companies in the United States are not required to participate in the system, officials said they expected that cellphone makers would promote the inclusion of the special chip as a selling point for new mobile phones.

The current situation is that man can survive without food, cloth and shelter for many days but he cannot live without a mobile handset for even the slightest moment. As we are all well aware, man is a social animal and, besides bread and butter, he also needs health, education and entertainment. The earlier mobile phones were only used for the verbal communications between two people and there was no concept of any other features. Through the passage of time, the manufacturers of mobile phones started to think about incorporating many different features related with other aspects of life, such as entertainment and games. Now, modern smart phones are well equipped to carry out any kind of entertainment need or function for the user.

The manufacturers of cell phones are now using the latest technology and hardware available on the market which fully support the advanced features of entertainment technology. These operating systems fully support flash and animation technology, which is the backbone of modern day entertainment industry. The downloading of ringtones and the latest 3D video games is a common feature of the current generation of mobile phones. The exciting ringtones and entertaining video games can bring smiles to millions of faces, all over the world during their busy work schedule for the day. The costs of mobile phones are coming down extremely fast, making the technology available to more and more people, no matter what their finances.

Don’t Let Your Cell Phone Get Hacked!

There are not too many people left in the world today who can say that they don’t possess a mobile phone. Cell phones have become as common today as wearing shoes. They are as ubiquitous as house keys, but they also contain important personal information and that leaves them as targets for people who steal information. Most of us are unaware of the danger or even that it’s possible to be so vulnerable to that sort of attack. These days cell phones are like mini computers that can be hacked into as easily as your home computer, sometimes even more so. The more popular cell phone operating systems like Microsoft’s, Google’s, or even Apple’s are all potential targets due to their wide spread use. Since these are the same systems that also run on our computers at home but with less of the security it was only a matter of time before criminals looked to exploit those weaknesses. For the billions of cell phones in use there are only a handful of companies responsible for the software on them. Nokia, which was once the leading smartphone supplier has recently signed a partnership agreement with Microsoft to use their system exclusively on Nokia phones. This means that there will be even fewer software platforms to choose from.

Along with the commonality and openness of most cell phone platforms, as they become more like computers they rely on wireless networking, Most come standard with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, which allow for convenient access to networks, sharing between devices, and downloading new applications and content. This convenience also creates a door for these hackers to get through to wreak havoc on your phone without you even knowing it. There are not too many ways to fully protect yourself from these unwanted intruders, but the first step is being aware that they are out there. Many of these cell phone operating systems have advanced built in protections. That is part of the reason we find ourselves constantly downloading updates. The important thing is to stay up to date with your software, as well as not leave your personal information in an easy to get at form, like passwords, private emails, banking codes, addresses or ID numbers.

So next time you use your cell phone be aware of the hidden dangers that lurk in the wireless atmosphere. Know what to look for to see if your system is vulnerable to cyber criminals and insure the security of your favorite handheld device.

Trace your cell phones with GPS service

Cell Phones have been the integral part of our society nowadays. With the latest features, the cell phone becomes much popular day to days. As many of the latest application launched, the recent application called GPS tracking device is used on cell phones.
