How Mobile Phones Work
Interestingly, a cell phone is actually a radio but now a more sophisticated one. Telephone and wireless communications can trace their roots back to the 1800s. Eventually the two technologies were combined to ease this wonderful communication. The digital phone is made up of a few parts which include a circuit board which contains the phone’s brain, a liquid crystal display, an antenna, a keyboard, a speaker, a microphone, a battery and, of course, the casing. Depending on the model of the set, one can store contacts, do tasks, do mathematics using the calculator, send and receive emails, play games, watch TV, send test messages and get news.
When thinking of any of one’s day-to-day tasks, a pocket-sized gadget such as a smartphone will enable you accomplish it due to its design and the services it offers. This allows you to install, run and even configure the applications that you choose. Unlike other phones that limit you to the pre-installed calendar, for example, this mobile phone allows you to install any calendar application, as long as it is compatible with the operating system platform. One can play audio and video files in the format supported, send or receive mails, manage information such as notes, a to-do list and the calendar and perform instant messaging. In addition to that, sending and receiving mobile phone calls is just a necessity.
The touch phone is a media player although this time, a portable one. It has a camera, the ability for wireless networking and built in applications which enable emailing, browsing through the web and installation of different applications that one finds available at the apps store. Sometimes one may want to delete applications that are not useful. In such cases, one should locate the application and then tap on it. An X icon will appear in the top left corner. If you tap on that X, the application will be deleted.
A tablet device is similar to a laptop, although it lacks a mouse and a keyboard. Instead, a digital pen is attached to the set. You will therefore use the pen to give commands on the screen. You do not need a flat surface in order to work with this gadget and the device is efficient even when working in a small space. This mobile gadget is perfect for computing tasks and, as it is not yet affordable for many; one needs to do extensive research online in order to get a model that is right for his needs.
