The Best Cell Phone Network for BlackBerry

There are four major cell phone providers in the United States and all of them carry and support BlackBerry Smartphone. All four of these providers offer data plans that allow BlackBerry owners to optimize the use of their devices. The choice of which provider to subscribe to for your BlackBerry comes down to three things: (1) the BlackBerry models each provider carries, (2) the prices of their data plans, (3) the quality of their phone service, and (4) the quality of their customer support – because somewhere along the way, you will need their customer support.

The first thing to do when you buy BlackBerry smartphones and when choosing the service provider most suited for you, is to do some research.

What Models Do Each Network Carry?

As mentioned, each cell phone provider has their own set of BlackBerry models that they carry. No one provider carries all models; some providers have models that the others do not carry.

The models that Verizon Wireless carries are BB Bold 9650, BB Curve 9330, BB Curve 8530, and BB Storm2 9550. Sprint carries BB Bold 9650, BB Curve 9330, BB Curve 8350i, BB Curve 8530, and BB Style 9670. T-Mobile carries five models: BlackBerry Bold 9700, Bold 9780, Curve 9300, Curve 8520, and Curve 8900.

AT&T has, by far, the most extensive BlackBerry smartphone model selection. They carry BlackBerry Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Curve 9300, Curve 8520, Curve 8900, Curve 3G, Curve 8310, Pearl 3G, Torch 9800, and Torch 9810.

It is always good to figure out which BlackBerry model you want that suits your needs first before trying to find a good provider.

Who Has The Best Data Plan?

Each network offers different data plans at different rates, some cheaper than others. Here’s a summary of each major networks’ service prices:

Verizon Wireless offers unlimited voice for $69.99, unlimited text for $20.00, and its data plan for BlackBerries start at $30.00 for 2GB of data.

AT&T pretty much has the same cost for unlimited voice and text. Its data plan for BlackBerries, however, starts at $25.00 for 2GB of data.

Sprint only has two options for BlackBerry Smartphones: the unlimited within the network plan which costs 99.99 and the anytime minutes.

T-Mobile offers unlimited voice and text and 2GB data for $79.99. Theirs is the cheapest.

Who Has The Best Network Service?

Verizon Wireless, according to people’s accounts, has the most reliable network. Their network signal is solid and secure. AT&T has the most extensive coverage, but their network signal in some parts of their network coverage is not that great; that is to say that the signal sometimes disappears and in some areas, people have to step out of their houses to make a phone call. Sprint has very bad coverage; their network only reaches the big cities and major highways. T-Mobile’s network coverage is not that good either.

If you are very particular with your network service, like say for example because you will be using it for business, Verizon and AT&T are your best bets.

Who Has The Best Customer Service?

The quality of a company’s customer service and technical support if very important, especially if you are dealing with data services and if you are using those services for your business or for work.

Although support is the last thing many people consider when they subscribe to a service, it is one of the most important.

Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile have excellent customer services, although some would argue that T-Mobile has the best. AT&T has OK customer support; sometimes you get good agents that will really help you with a problem, sometimes you get really bad ones. Sprint, on the other hand, does not have good customer service at all.

What About the BlackBerry Messenger Support?

All BlackBerry devices have what is called the BlackBerry Messenger. It is BlackBerry software that essentially allows BlackBerry users to instant message one another.

If you have the BlackBerry data plan, you will get this service free on any network.
