Ongoing research – smart phones

The ongoing research in the field of electronics and telecommunications is of tremendous magnitude. The possible outcome of this research will take us all to the next level of communication. Virtual presence could be made possible in due course of time just like in the science fiction movies we watch in the theaters today. The currently available smart phones in the market such as iPhone, BlackBerry and other premium models are all just the result of the research that has happened over a decade or so. While we are reaping the benefits of the research after such a long time due to so many commercial applications, there is a separate segment of elite in society that are well advanced in their thought process.
The scientist’s communities, which perform all the research activities and build prototypes of the successful models at the early stages, form the elite we are talking about here. They knew already what is going to be the top-notch style in the next 10 to 20 years. They have the vision and can foresay the possible outcomes of the future easily. Their clairvoyance can be identified and secrets can be unleashed by means of reading their books and research papers that they submit to some of the prominent academic and journalists publications around the world. It is for these reasons that the costs of some of the journals are quite exorbitant.
BlackBerry Videos are something the youngsters enjoy as today that was not dreamt of by us a decade ago. Now, it is something fascinating and real as well. Similar situations could be noted for the iPhones, iPads, and iPods and so on. The mobile phone that is used today is not just limited to its essential purpose alone, but there are numerous other purposes that it serves. Buying smart phones wisely is indeed a challenge with variety of options that are available on the market today.
Just like how the scientist does research about the improvisation of their products, we the consumers have to perform our own research on identifying the right kind of product that are compatible to our needs. A homemaker that spends most of their time in the house doing household chores will not be in need of a BlackBerry. Similarly, a peasant and construction labor would be in no demand for such a phone. Commercial applications are more than enough to meet their demands of a mobile phone.

Some Fast facts about smart phones

PDA phones are devices, which are specially meant to be used to easily execute the services of a personal digital assistant (PDA) combined with serving the purpose of verbal communication. In general, the mobile phones of the past were devoid of this particular feature and merely served as a communication device. With the advent of touch phones of the present day, the features inbuilt in these kinds of cell phones have completely outclassed mobile phones released in previous years. These phones are not designed to be only for communication, but for several other important aspects of life. These include organizers, schedulers, entertaining music, videos, games, a torch, Bluetooth, news updates, SMS, MMS and many more. The mobile phone has become an inevitable commodity that has to be carried along with an individual all the time, in addition to other essentials such as a wallet and keys.

The numbers of service that are being made available on smart phones are increasing on a daily basis. Smart business firms make it easy for their clientele to get everything done with the simple device in their pockets. One can access maps, satellite navigation, the directions to a nearest television transmission tower, the latest news coverage, the weather reports and even the latest traffic updates instantaneously from your smart phone. This shows how versatile phones now are. They are no longer used exclusively for communication and their uses are endless, with new uses being found every day.

These phones really are smart devices. Multitudes of tasks can be performed just with this simple machine and this enables the user to save the amount of costs associated with purchases of other devices, when their uses can be found in a smart phone. Moreover, individuals really do save a lot of money in the form of instant payments made through cell phone billing facilities. The costs associated towards the penalties otherwise could have been too much to bear. You do not need to maintain an electronic diary, the contacts directory, or fix reminders about different events in your yearly calendar. Everything is automatically done in the smart phone through the digital software that is created specifically for serving these purposes. It shows how far smart phones have come, since they are now relied upon by their users to perform a huge number of tasks. Whereas before you may need an mp3 player, electronic diary, satellite navigation and other devices, it is now common to use a smart phone to perform the functions made by all of these devices. This saves the user a lot of time, money and pocket space.

BlackBerry Bold Smart Phone Series

BlackBerry has introduced a wide range of its BlackBerry Bold smart phones. The Bold mobile phones were introduced in late 2008 and since then they have attracted a lot of customers. For the past two years, BlackBerry introduced an updated version of its Bold smart phone every now and then; now those have been replaced by the new BlackBerry Curve phones.

The BlackBerry Bold phones were the first phone in the Bold line-up. This phone had a wide body and some nice features. The phone had a round edged and slick body. The QWERTY keyboard was flat and square in shape. The keys were very roomy and texting was found to be easy. The screen was big and pretty wide, compared to the other BlackBerry mobiles; and the display was very vibrant and sharp, thus the name. The Bold’s display screen was considered to be among the best screens on a smart phone at that time. The mobile had a 2-MP camera and a video player that gave a very high quality viewing experience that awed many at that time.
The phone was a bit heavy and was hard to carry in a pocket. It had a leathery textured back, so it was easy to hold it with a firm grip. The design was such that it looked stylish while holding, but due to its broadness, it was harder to get a nice grip, especially for people with small delicate hands. The mobile phone came in different colours, but some special editions were released as well. This included the BlackBerry Bold Black and BlackBerry Bold White OEM.

After than the above stated smart phones, BlackBerry started a whole series of Bold mobiles. The series was known as the BlackBerry Bold 9000 series in which the BlackBerry Bold 9700 was a very successful phone, as there were some changes brought in by the company. The Blackberry 9700 was highly appreciated by consumers for its new design and upgrades; although a few critics said that BlackBerry was unable to reduce the masculinity of the phone which affected the priorities of many female users.

All in all, the BlackBerry Bold series was pretty successful. Kudos to BlackBerry for bringing up the right time and never allowing the interest of the customer in the Bold series to diminish. Now BlackBerry has improved its Blackberry Curve series phones and has started a whole new series with them as well.

Operating systems used in smart phones

The very first precursor of today’s smartphones was orginally invented all the way back in 1992 by IBM. It was presented to the public for the very first time at a trade show that held in the city of Las Vegas, USA. The launch of the first ever-smart phone with features that included a facility for sending faxes was, at the time, considered a serious landmark in the field of telecommunication.
Looking back two decades on the evolution of mobile phones, the amount of growth witnessed in the industry in the last twenty years is simply enormous. The now ever present touch screen phones and BlackBerry devices are the most obvious current example of this development and how far the technology has been advanced. Smart phones usually employ a complex and well-crafted operating system, as it needs to support a variety of features and mobile operations. Some of the better known systems in the mobile market are Apple’s iOS, Google Android, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 and Nokia’s Symbian. The Blackberry operates via Research In Motion and the embedded Linux distributions are used extensively in the industry in models such as the Maemo and the MeeGo. Such systems could be installed on a variety of different handsets and can also run third-party applications, by using tan application-programming interface, more commonly referred to as the API.
When looking to buy a high quality smart phone at a premieum price from on of the more established brands then it is likely it may be running on the symbian operating system and can be founf on offer in most international markets. The symbian system’s enduring popularty comes mainly from the fact it is open source. The Nokia Corporation bought completely the name and rights of the operating system from its previous owners and made it available to the public in the form of open access. This move was made with the aim cutting down the competition in the trade.
With hindsight it has been a highly successful strategy and a piece of great foresight by some of Nokia’s senior management. By analysing the data available to them they saw foolproof evidence that making such a popular operating system open source would help them to dominate the market. This came to pass in no uncertain terms and such a forward thinking move has helped them to gain a ket edge over their competitors.

Fast facts about PDA phones

Cell phones trackers could be of great use in identifying the theft of mobiles, for the police department. The software is available in many places on the internet. One could identify the best compatible software with respect to their PDA phones, the carrier of service, and so on. Touch phones could be traced just with their numbers, the detailed identify of the person could be obtained from the authorities of respective departments.
The database collection of all such credential information and details are always available with the service provider and it is mandatory for them to keep such details with them as a must. In fact, strict regulations are there that they are issuing the service providing sim cards only after effective scrutinizing and checking of the documents that are provided to them each and every retailer would emphasis more about the clarity of the documents that are submitted to them in spite of being a photocopy.
It is because of the fact that, there are so many incidents where the activation of the particular number of the sim card will not happen even after paying relevant prices for top up and so on. It is because of the fact that the head office members could not recognize certain details or the photocopy of the photo properly. It is also possible when there are some controversial facts identified in the photocopies that are produced.
Facilities are there that you could approach the retailer in such cases to ask and inquire about the defaults in such cases. The head office staff will explain on what is to be submitted further to prove that it is a genuine claim for the sim card. In that case, on providing the requirement credentials again, the number would be activated again after relevant checks and scrutiny.
The commission offered to the retailers for selling the top up cards is about 7 percent overall. It is almost the same all over the world, irrespective of different carriers and their services. If you sell a card for 100 dollars of any country’s currency, then you get seven of the same as your commission. In some places, efforts are going on to reduce this commission to 4 percent. The multi national companies unite the retailers in their fight against such deductions. Still, the government should also intervene and try to support the claims of the hard earning tradesmen in the market.

The BlackBerry Match-Up: Torch vs. Curve

Without a doubt, the BlackBerry has attained worldwide success due in part to it sensitivity to the needs of both the business and non-corporate demographics. Although it catered primarily to the former during its birth in 1999, it didn’t take long before the BlackBerry found its way from the pockets of a business professional’s crisp trousers to those of an average person’s denim jeans. Since then, the word ‘BlackBerry’ no longer necessarily connotes a fruit in the consciousness of people. Nowadays, it easily translates to a perfect blend of form and function. Two of the salient BlackBerry series preferred are the BlackBerry Curve and the BlackBerry Torch. Although the former has been in production for quite some time already, manufacturers continue to release newer models that can very well compete with the newer Torch. So in what aspects do these two measure up? Read on to find out.

BlackBerry Curve phones have come a long way since the release of its first model, the 8300, in 2003. Consisting mainly of the 8300, 8900, 8500 and 9300 series, the Curve phones were favored because they’re cheaper than the rest of the multi-featured BlackBerry devices. The 8300 and 8900 range of smartphones is equipped with a trackball navigational system and QWERTY keypad. It wasn’t until mid-2009 when the first BlackBerry with the iconic optical track pad was released in the market: the Curve 8520. The succeeding models were then integrated with the same navigating key.

Being the latest among the Curve family, the 9300 series is the most equipped. It consists of the 9300 and 9330 models which are slim and lightweight. They also come in a number of colors. A major enhancement done on the 9300 series is its upgradeable software, which allows users to switch to the powerful BlackBerry OS 6.0. In addition, this series is conveniently WiFi-ready.
Meanwhile, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is loaded with highly advanced features such as impressive multimedia functions, high-resolution display, efficient camera attributes, expandable memory and longer battery life. Its form is already a distinguishing quality as it combines both a touch screen and slide phone, all the while retaining the signature track pad. To further maximize your Torch experience, you can avail of the myriad of applications for mobile professionals, gamers, social networking aficionado, media junkie and etcetera. If you may have to choose between the Curve and the Torch, it is best to opt not for that which has the most number of features, but that which possesses the features you actually need.

Specialties of the Touch Phone

Cell phone is not the name given to mobile phones anymore as the world has moved on to the next generation of communication on the go: the touch phone. The touch phone is the most suitable name for the present day smart phone. Whether it is a tablet or an iPod, iPad or a Smartphone, there is an array of software and design choices and accessories for the consumer to choose from. It comes down to a question of preference, when a consumer is deciding between a mobile with a stylus or a touch screen.
If you consider the basic fact about cameras in the touch phone, many models have high mega-pixel cameras installed in them. You cannot compare Smartphone cameras to those on touch phones, as generally the latter win out in expert reviews. Generally, touch screen phone manufacturers focus more on developing the camera function, as many touch phones are used more for entertainment, while Smartphones are geared towards the business community on the whole with official software, email access, IM and so on.
Funny video games are attractive accessories on many touch screen mobile phones. You should be able to find phones with your favorite computer games installed, making them a versatile, entertaining device. Many phone manufacturers are introducing special types of games that are only compatible with their own models in a bid to entice consumers. And many popular PC or video games also have been developed into the special version for touch phones.
The cell phone, and its usage as of today, has replaced several conventional practices. For instance, for a very long time we would refer to a telephone directory in order to find out numbers and maintain a separate diary to keep them all safely written in. As of today, you can find the telephone numbers you need at the click of a button in simple searches from search engines. There is an enormous amount of memory available on touch screen phones, so consumers can store as many contacts as you like and need to.
It is not just those two simple facts that make the touch screen a great addition to your life. There is a whole heap of accessories and functions available on this type of phone. The touch phone is a real Smartphone for sure now, and it will become one important part of people’s lives in the future.

The smart phones and services

Touch phones can be used for a huge variety of tasks these days. Whereas they were once used just for verbal communication, they have since expanded their abilities and can perform diverse functions. The SMS feature is one example of a feature that was introduced and achieved great success, mostly due to its use throughout the younger generation. Many users use the SMS feature to communicate with their contacts. They are able to keep in contact with their friends and family through text messages costing less than a regular phone call. Moreover, when contacting friends in overseas countries, one would find it a great deal cheaper to send a text message instead of making a phone call. This feature has led to the improvement of communication possibilities at a lower cost.
Some mobile phone carriers offer free SMS services, ranging from 100 free messages, ranging upwards to an unlimited amount of free messages, depending on the contract that the consumer enters with the service. Prepaid services are the most attractive ones to users, as different carriers compete with each other to gain the biggest market share. Post paid services are fixed and discount options are comparatively less. Moreover, the customer is bound to the service when they sign up to the post-paid service. Hence, it is not necessary to attempt to gain more money from a loyal customer. On the other hand, there is no security from pre paid customer, as they can shift to a rival service, should they offer a deal which undercuts the customer’s existing service plan.
Sometimes customers can be swayed by offers from rival service providers. Once consumers have made the change to a rival service provider, it may be hard to win them back. For this reason, service providers put a lot of effort into making sure consumers stay with them, by offering the lowest rates and service plans possible. Consumers are the real winners in this situation, as they can threaten to leave a service provider and convince them to offer a cheaper plan. PDA phones have existed on the mobile phone market for quite some time now. These handsets are able to multi-task and perform a wide range of features that sets them apart from earlier cell phones. Despite this, normal cell phones are still perfectly suitable for users who do not need to use their phones for any other features and just want a communication device

How to find the best BlackBerry for my lifestyle

In today’s world, technology changes with lifestyle and fashion. Though many people have not yet considered this, a number of people consider this critically. It is wise to look in to the aspect of lifestyle before getting yourself a BlackBerry phone since they are costly and you would not like abandoning one just because it cannot help you with your tasks. This article will help you know what best suits your chosen lifestyle.

When it comes to choosing the right BlackBerry phone for yourself, the first things to take note of is your lifestyle. Know what your lifestyle is. You can get a piece of paper and write down what your likes are. They could be web surfing, playing virtual games, taking photos and videos, chatting online, etc… after that, add the tasks that you may need to do using the gadget, like word processing. After identifying what you will want to do with the gadget, you can now do research on the different types and models and their specifications and features to find a suitable one for yourself.

Below I have a few examples to guide you.

For those who are into the multimedia, I would prefer the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for them. This is because it has a good quality picture output since it can display 65,000 colors due to the high screen resolution of up to 480 x 360 pixels. With the 2.44-inch screen, you will have a great image display and good quality videos not forgetting the 3.2 pixel camera with X2 zoom level.

For those who have a lot to do with word processing and document viewing, I would suggest the BlackBerry Torch. I personally like this one because of the QWERTY slider keyboard pad. This offers you the ability to type faster and easier since buttons are a bit spaced.

If you are the business or corporate type who is always on the move, then it is wise to opt for the Airtel BlackBerry services. This provides additional features like remote address look up, wireless synchronizing of personal address books, memos and calendars. It also offers attachment viewing in the form of MS Word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint and PDF files. This will also help you have access to the internet anywhere and anytime.

With this piece of information, I hope you will get a BlackBerry phone to suit your lifestyle.

The Inspiring Journey Of BlackBerry Curve Smart Phones

BlackBerry launched its Curve mobile series in mid 2003. This mobile phone was an entry level phone in which the main target customers were those who wanted a better multimedia experience and a multi-tasking phone. The Curve was built of serve this purpose, but it did receive some criticism.

At the start of its launch, the BlackBerry Curve phones were very welcome in the cellular markets and the phones attracted a lot of customers due to its curvy designs and shape, but as time passed by, some of the competing mobile phones made people realize that there are some very essential things missing in the Curve phones, like Wi-Fi and video recording. For these reasons the market of these phones dropped abruptly. The manufacturing company, Research In Motion (or RIM), then introduced some more Curve series in the next few years, as the Curve 8300 Series phones. These phones filled some of the gaps, but not all of them.

Then in 2009, RIM decided to introduce a completely new BlackBerry Curve Series - the 8500 and 8900 Series. The 8500 and 8900 series were better phones in many ways, which included a better display, higher memory and better multimedia utilities, including a video recording camera. These mobiles were able to increase the excitement level in BlackBerry’s fans, but the lack of 3G still haunted the success of the Curve series that it was destined for.

Then, at the end of 2010, the BlackBerry Curve 9300 series was released. The new 9300 Series has two models, the 9300 and 9330 smart phones. The 9300 series smart phones were mid-level phones with a great boost in their speed, by the introduction of 3G speeds. The mobile phone also featured a higher memory and a better body design. The multimedia experience came as a treat. The connectivity options other than the 3G were Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and network Hot Spots. The 9300 series uses a faster processor and with the new BlackBerry OS 6, the phone felt faster than ever. These BlackBerry Curve phones appealed to both genders, rather than being masculine like the BlackBerry Bold. The phone has an improved keyboard layout, a brighter screen and some dedicated keys for multimedia. The apps available with the phone were priceless and pretty easy to use.

The BlackBerry Curve smart phones have seen a lot of ups and downs in the market. Eventually, with the introduction of the 9300 series, the BlackBerry Curve mobile reached the highest satisfaction level among customers that the company dreamt of in 2003.

Information about Some of the Smartphone Devices Which Have Remained Popular and On Top

Gone are the days when a mobile phone used to be a communication device only. Mobiles are now a source of entertainment, information, leisure and pleasure. You can browse the internet, chat, blog, comment and even send and receive emails. The latter description is of the latest trends of mobiles which are referred to as Smart Phones. As the name suggests, these are mobiles which are smart. They will give anything and everything you need.

How Mobile Phones Work

Interestingly, mobile phones are actually radios but now more sophisticated ones. Telephone and wireless communications can trace their roots back to the 1800s. Eventually the two technologies were combined to ease this wonderful communication. The digital phone is made up of a few parts which include a circuit board which contains the phone’s brain, a liquid crystal display, an antenna, a keyboard, a speaker, a microphone, a battery and, of course, the casing. Depending on the model of the set, one can store contacts, do tasks, do mathematics using the calculator, send and receive emails, play games, watch TV, send test messages and get news.

When thinking of any of one’s day-to-day tasks, a pocket-sized gadget such as a Smartphone will enable you accomplish it due to its design and the services it offers. This allows you to install, run and even configure the applications that you choose. Unlike other phones that limit you to the pre-installed calendar, for example, this mobile phone allows you to install any calendar application, as long as it is compatible with the operating system platform. One can play audio and video files in the format supported, send or receive mails, manage information such as notes, a to-do list and the calendar and perform instant messaging. In addition to that, sending and receiving mobile phone calls is just a necessity.

The touch phone is a media player although this time, a portable one. It has a camera, the ability for wireless networking and built in applications which enable emailing, browsing through the web and installation of different applications that one finds available at the apps store. Sometimes one may want to delete applications that are not useful. In such cases, one should locate the application and then tap on it. An X icon will appear in the top left corner. If you tap on that X, the application will be deleted.

A Tablet PC device is similar to a laptop, although it lacks a mouse and a keyboard. Instead, a digital pen is attached to the set. You will therefore use the pen to give commands on the screen. You do not need a flat surface in order to work with this gadget and the device is efficient even when working in a small space. This mobile gadget is perfect for computing tasks and, as it is not yet affordable for many, one needs to do extensive research online in order to get a model that is right for his needs.

The Launch of the Smartphone

For many years, telephony was dominated by fixed lines, then wireless handsets and now, finally, the cell phone. Many people who were used to using public pay phones saw the mobile phones as the revolution. It would be for about another decade or so that people would use the cell phone and still marvel at its ingenuity. The cell phone of yester years was a basic device, compared to the gadgets that are currently on the market. They allowed for making and receiving calls, texting, playing games and a host of other useful functions.

However, the advancement in technology was still progressing and so the smartphones were invented. This device is a superior model of the cellular device in very many aspects. For one, it is able to do all the functions that the cellular phone does, but has other unique and sophisticated functionalities those basic mobile phones cannot do. For instance, the smart devices are able to run applications such as word processors, have GPS tracking capabilities, use touchscreen technology for input and many other state-of-the-art functions that computers do. Smart devices come with a processor, RAM and wireless capabilities that the ordinary cellular phones does not have.

A popular version of the smart device has been invented, this is a gadget called the Tablet pc. A tablet is an advanced version of a smartphone, which uses touchscreen technology exclusively for input. Whereas some of the smart devices have a fully functioning QWERTY keyboard, tablets only have a touchscreen. The features of these devices are almost the same as those of smart devices and are sometimes considered to be one and the same thing. However, tablets are more advanced in the sense that they are designed primarily to be a bridge between a mobile phone and personal computer.

One feature that is becominincreasingly common as the cellular phone technology advances is the use of touch screen technology. This technology has enabled the rapid growth of the touch phone and other similar devices that use touch sensitive screen for input, instead of the conventional keypad. Touch screens were invented to replace the QWERTY keyboard, as it made more sense to have a virtual keyboard that disappears when not in use. This allows for the design of compact and robust gadgets which can have an extra large screen to power multimedia, as the gadgets do not need to use actual keyboards that eat up space.
