What you need to know about the BlackBerry Internet service for your BlackBerry Curve Phones or BlackBerry Torch

When Research in Motion authored the BlackBerry Internet Services (BIS), they put all BlackBerry Curve Phones into the high-end user market all over the world. Soon everybody who had a BlackBerry had access to their POP3, IMAP and Web App without needing to connect via a BlackBerry server. This was good news to many Business enterprise users as they now could rely on more than just their own server but a more powerful faster server that was being provided by RIM. It also made sure that BlackBerry Curve phones had access to a full suite of applications like organisers, memos, calendars, email, SMSs, and internet browsing. Since then all the BlackBerry Bold 9700 phone, that followed the Curve Series had these applications that allowed them to connect faster from anywhere without any hassles.

These free applications allow you to:

· Check your inbox on your phone and respond to emails in real-time.
· Use your phone to stay in touch with anyone anywhere at anytime.
· Organise your tasks, memos, and calendars on your phone with alerts.
· Browse the internet from anywhere at anytime.
· Get and send SMSs or MMS’ without any hassles.
· Send instant messages to another BlackBerry user with the BlackBerry Messenger service or use other instant messenger services just as easily.
· Attach, or view JPEG, TIFF, and Microsoft suite documents.
· Get on the social networking buzz via FaceBook and Twitter.
· Surf the internet as long as your data service is active.

Free and paid applications

BlackBerry Messenger allows two people to chat in real time without having to pay the cost of a SMS as long as they have data service on their phones.

There are many other free applications that are available from the Blackberry Apps Center that any BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Torch can load without any charge being attached. With BIS you can receive emails of up to 5MB regardless of your inbox size.

The only paid service that you will be charged for on any BlackBerry device is the use of streaming data or streaming video.

Anytime you asked to connect to WAP like when you want to view YouTube videos, you may be charged.

Some third party applications are offered to BlackBerry users and these will be added to the list of applications that Your BlackBerry Torch supports.
