An ideal Smartphone for you


Gone are the days when people had to wait for a telephone connection at home or office. Present era is the era of Mobile phones and cell phones, which are literally, named as smart phones. The biggest advantage of Smart phones is their computing ability. Another feature of connectivity helps them to have an upper hand among the consumers than the typical phones. The best part of smart phones is that you can carry them wherever you go. Today the number of people using smart phones is increasing day by day. According to a latest industry survey, the number of smart phones would increase up to 44% by the year 2015.

Smart phones are ideal for application developers, since they run on an operating system. In fact advanced features like powerful processors ,abundant memory have made them popular among public .Certain other advanced features like larger screens and an open operating system also makes them ideal for application developers.
Talking about operating systems that are used in smart phones ,the most popular ones are Symbian,Blackberry ,PalmWeb etc.Linux is mostly used in Cell phone by Samsung.

Let us take a brief look into the history of smartphones. The very concept of Smartphone was developed by IBM in 1992.It was named as Simon then. Simon attracted public with its features like calendar, address book, calculator etc. It could also send and receive emails etc .Games and features like world clock were present in it. A touch screen helped to choose phone numbers. Then came Nokia with its 9000 series in 1996.It was manufactured in a palm topstylewhich made it an instant hit among the consumers. Later on Nokia captured the hearts of people with a model that used a color screen. This model w as popularly known as Nokia9210.Later models were the communicator series called 9500 with cameras and wifi’s.

The mobilephone markets also saw Ericsson group releasing their smartphones in 1997.The series popularly known as R380 series had Symbian as its operating system. The year 2002 saw 2smartphones entering the market by Sony Ericcson as well as Blackberry by RIM. The later years saw many popular Mobile phone companies competition with each other with advanced phones.Then in 2008 Google surprised everyone with their set of smartphones popularly known as Nexus one which uses Android as operating system .the latest addition to the family of smartphones is of course,iphone by Apple in June2010.It is wooing customers with features likeRetina display and a front facing camera.

The popularity of the smart phones can be understood from the very fact that about45.5 million people in America own them. The number of subscribers will only increase in the coming years.We can see many more smartphones with new features in the coming years.
